On Friday, September 8, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will kick off the Inauguration weekend for its 10th president, Dr. Toyin Tofade, the College’s first Black female president in its 142-year history.
It will begin with a discussion around Modeling Leadership and Service for the Community on Friday at 3 pm. Participants include Cinnamon Piñon Carlarne JD, BCL, President and Dean, Albany Law School; Walter Thorne, Market President and Publisher, Albany Business Journal; Dennis McKenna MD, President and CEO of Albany Med Health System; and Lucinda Maine, PhD, RPh, Retired Executive Vice President and CEO of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. It will be moderated by ACPHS Student Government Association President, Dominick Lomonaco.
Then on Saturday, September 9 at 11 am, the campus community will honor Dr. Tofade at the official investiture ceremony at the Albany Capital Center. Attendees include Congressman Paul Tonko, Assemblyman John McDonald, several area college and university presidents, national higher education leaders, and special guests from around the globe.
