Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences

Comprised of faculty that span pharmaceutical and pharmacological research, the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is in the process of expanding and strengthening its research portfolio.

Existing areas of expertise include drug delivery, drug discovery, epigenetics, bioanalytical technologies, cell signaling, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and neuroscience (view the below list of recent scholarly activity for additional insights into the research being conducted by members of the Department).

The Department supports both the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences in addition to teaching courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.

Departmental faculty on the Albany Campus are centralized in the Biosciences Research Building (BRB). The department also includes members based on the College's Vermont Campus. Faculty also enjoy access to the College’s Pharmaceutical Research Institute (PRI), which occupies premier lab space at the University at Albany’s Health Sciences campus in Rensselaer, NY.
