Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing Degree Overview
Gain the knowledge and real-world training to make an impact in the biopharmaceutical industry. The 33-credit one-year accelerated Master of Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing at ACPHS combines innovative coursework with experiential learning in the laboratories of the Stack Family Center for Biopharmaceutical Education and Training (CBET). You may choose either a full-time or part-time track. In addition, the flexibility of the program enables you to pursue dual degree programs (e.g., doctor of pharmacy).

The curriculum culminates in experiential learning (internship or a capstone project), in which students apply what they have learned in the classroom and laboratory to real-world experience. These are just a few of the core fundamentals you will learn when you earn your master's degree at ACPHS: Cell Culture Technology, Fermentation Technology, Downstream Processing (focuses on Purification of Biopharmaceuticals), Quality Assurance and Control, Principles of Regulatory Science, Molecular Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Drug Design, Animal Models Ethics in Research and Statistical Inference.

The Master’s in Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing is provided on a flexible lecture and laboratory schedule designed for working professionals anywhere in the country. Some courses are offered entirely online, while others feature online lectures and in-person laboratory components.

The Borisenok Family Foundation Scholarship also provides financial-need-based tuition assistance to help support advancement in the biopharmaceutical sciences.

What Is Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing?
Biomanufacturing and bioprocessing are the processes used to generate and refine biopharmaceuticals (drugs made from living organisms) for distribution and patient treatment. This fast growing and vitally important field is key to producing vaccines, antibodies, enzymes, gene therapies and other life-saving biopharmaceuticals.

The Master’s in Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing at ACPHS is a great fit for early and mid-career professionals who want to enter the biopharmaceutical industry, including cell-line development, process development, regulatory compliance, quality assurance/quality control, manufacturing, business development pharmacists who want to transition from retail pharmacy to biopharmaceutical manufacturing. If you’re already a professional working in biopharma, this program is a great way to sharpen your skills and prepare for leadership roles in a continually evolving industry.

Why Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing?
There are many reasons to pursue a career in biomanufacturing and bioprocessing:

• You can make a real difference in the world. Biomanufactured products have the potential to substantially improve people's health and well-being. Biomanufactured vaccines, for example, can aid in illness prevention, while biomanufactured medicines can aid in disease treatment.

• You will be working on cutting-edge technologies. As new technologies are created to improve the production of biomanufactured products, the biomanufacturing industry is continually developing. This means you'll be working with cutting-edge technology and always acquiring new skills.

• You will be part of a growing industry. The future of employment in bioprocessing and manufacturing is very promising. The U.S. Department of Labor projects that job opportunities for biological technicians will increase by 9% between 2021 and 2031, a growth rate higher than the average for all occupations. The demand for biomanufactured products is rising, and there is a necessity for more trained biomanufacturing specialists to oversee the production of these products.

If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding career in a developing sector, then a Master's in Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing is the perfect fit for you.
