You can never underestimate the value of a first impression. When that first impression is over dinner, there are rules to follow. Getting them wrong can make you seem, well, tasteless (pun intended).

To give young professionals the opportunity to experience a formal dinner setting and learn those rules, ACPHS reinstated the Etiquette Training Dinner on Thursday, March 16.

It's a tradition that ceased in 2014. Geoffrey Henderson '10 (shown seated, far right), who sponsored the dinner, thought it was an especially appropriate time to bring it back. The social isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic have left many of our social graces lacking.

The dinner, Henderson said, was a way to "have a little bit of fun, but learn at the same time."

We hope you do just that, by taking the Are you ready for dinner? quiz we developed from the advice of Katie Plante, etiquette trainer at Sodexo RPI, who led the event.
