Apply to ACPHS
Sometimes you just know. The majority of pharmacy students on our Albany Campus come to ACPHS directly from high school and join our six year Early Assurance program. Some of these students have a family member who is a pharmacist. Others may have worked in a pharmacy in high school or job shadowed a pharmacist. And for some of our students, they just enjoy helping people through their love of science. For high school students who have made the decision to become pharmacists, the Early Assurance program is the way to go.
Doctor of Pharmacy Early Assurance Pathway
High school students entering the Doctor of Pharmacy program can earn an advanced degree in just 6 years with the ACPHS early assurance pathway. By meeting the progression requirements of the two-year Pre-Pharmacy curriculum, you are guaranteed a seat in the first professional year (P1) of the Doctor of Pharmacy program, without the requirement of reapplying or taking the PCAT Examination.
EXPERIENTIAL EDUCATION
ACPHS students can choose from more than 600 rotation sites around the world to gain real world experience through the experiential education requirements of the curriculum. Stay local, head out to another part of the country or go abroad!
Student Life
Our Albany campus offers students plenty of opportunities to get involved in extracurricular activities. You can compete as a student-athlete in soccer, cross country, track & field, hockey, or basketball. There are dozens of student clubs you can join from the Dance Team to the Gaming club and also professional organizations such as the American College of Clinical Pharmacy or Industry Pharmacists Organization.
STUDENT OPERATED PHARMACIES
ACPHS operates two not-for-profit community pharmacies in medically underserved areas of New York's Capital Region. Each pharmacy will provide you with a distinctive and innovative experience that help you to develop and refine your advanced practice skills. And while the pharmacies are helping you, you will be improving access to pharmacy and health care services for members of the local community. As full-service pharmacies, they include point-of-care screening services coupled with associated disease state counseling.
