139 Years Later
October 3rd is the birthday of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. On that day in 1881, the first classes were held, and a legacy was born. 139 years later, we are still going strong thanks to the vision of the College’s founders, the generosity of generations of donors and the tenacity of leaders who guided the institution through world wars and global health crises like the flu outbreak of 1918.
The College survives thanks to those who believe in the mission and who know that it’s never been more important to have health care professionals with a thorough grounding in science who support our communities. Our graduates are essential to our future. The development of medicine continues to evolve almost daily and our students and graduates must be prepared to meet the future with the skills and experience that only an ACPHS education can offer.
It is in this spirit that we are setting forth a goal of counting 250 alumni donors by October 3rd. This would be a record-setting showing of support from alumni, and would give a clear signal that our community is invested in a bright future for our students, our College and our world.
