Art and Science is a Recipe for Success

ACPHS alumna Rachel Brockley ’08 has long loved both art and science. As a high school student, she was student of the year for her accomplishments in both disciplines. She now has a PharmD and works as a pharmacy manager, but she has always enjoyed creating unique artwork on the side. She recently began making small gifts for friends out of resin as a way to explore her interest in both science and art. Most of Rachel’s closest friends are fellow ACPHS graduates who appreciate the medical themes of her work.

Last fall, she started an etsy store to sell some of her creations that blend her health care background with her creative side and was surprised to sell more than $1,000 in orders in her first weekend. What started as a whim has really boomed in the last few months, and she’s already getting orders for the holidays and has worked with several organizations on fundraisers. ACPHS has always been a big part of her life—she’s still very close to many of her classmates, and she volunteers as a preceptor for current pharmacy students.

We recently worked with Rachel to design a special gift to thank the members of the Francis J. O’Brien Society. These are donors who are creating lasting legacies to support future students at ACPHS. See more of Rachel’s work here: www.rxgoodyshop.com.
