ACPHS Announces New Campaign
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is excited to announce the launch of the Discovery for Life Campaign. This fundraising campaign, which began in 2018 is the largest and most expansive fundraising initiative in the College’s history with a goal of $11 million.
We sought feedback from alumni, students, board members, faculty, staff, administration, and friends of the College on what strategic initiatives to develop and support. The overwhelming consensus was that we should use the funds to enrich all aspects of the student experience and provide more pathways for students to be prepared to enter the everchanging healthcare environment and biopharmaceutical industry.
The campaign’s priorities fall into three main areas:
- Scholarships: There are many students who have the dream, talent, and commitment to receive an ACPHS education, but they lack the financial resources to turn their aspirations into realities. We want to recruit and retain the most deserving students, regardless of their financial means. Because our students will be tomorrow’s health care leaders.
- Student Experience: Students will thrive in a stimulating atmosphere that fosters creative expression, personal growth, and a sense of community. We are dedicated to providing this to our students, knowing it will aid us in our endeavors to educate and develop the whole person.
- Bridges to Industry: Academic bioprocess centers often arise as part of engineering schools, but there is a unique value proposition to housing such activities in a pharmacy and health science setting. ACPHS will be at the forefront of these initiatives while also actively prioritizing industry collaboration and corporate partnerships. We will develop new skillsets in our students, while building on our principal academic foundations.
The benefits of supporting the education and development of students pursuing careers in pharmacy and health sciences are immense. And now, our graduates are needed more than ever. ACPHS graduates are improving patient outcomes, tackling health disparities, and advancing the biopharmaceutical industry.
We are honored that so many of our generous donors, most of whom are alumni, have given to our Discovery for Life Campaign. We are grateful that our donors had the foresight and vision to help us build the ACPHS of the future.
These generous donations have helped us continue to support scholarships and many aspects of the student experience that are already positively impacting our students. We have received more than $8.4 million toward these major goals, and still have opportunities for you to partner with us.
