Dr. Robert M. Stote ’60 Endowed Scholarship Fund

Given by Dr. Robert M. Stote ‘60 in support of an endowed scholarship at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. By putting students first, ACPHS seeks to ensure continued access to higher education for students with limited means by increasing the number of undergraduate and graduate scholarship awards. In an era when cost is the number one deciding factor in college choice, increasing financial aid resources is critical to attracting high performing students, offering a diverse learning community, and reducing the amount of debt students carry after graduation.

The Dr. Robert M. Stote ’60 Scholarship Fund will be awarded in perpetuity. The criteria are as follows:

  1. Student(s) will be first generation college students in the Bachelor of Science program who will be pursuing an advanced degree in the medical field.
  2. Student(s) will have completed at least one year in the program and worked part time in a pharmacy or in a healthcare related position for one year.
  3. Student(s) will have an average GPA of 3.5 or higher in the year prior to receiving this award.
  4. An award shall be made annually.  If no students meet all the criteria, it shall be awarded to a student(s) who meets some of the criteria and in financial need.
  5. Scholarship may be awarded to a first generation student with a GPA of 3.25 if there are no first generation student candidates that meet the 3.5 GPA criteria.
  6. Award may be split if two candidates have equal qualifications.
  7. Award recipients are encouraged to read Dr. Stote’s Oral History Project. An executive summary will be made available to student recipients.
