Welcome to the spring semester at ACPHS. Campus will come to life this week as students, classes and events return. Here is a snapshot of the spring semester events, with many more still to come.

January

There’s a lot happening, and it all starts this month with Cocoa and Catch-Up on Jan. 17 at 11 a.m in the Rite Aid Lounge from the Center for Student Success’ Peer Mentor Program. Later this week, join the first Pizza with the Prez of the year on Jan. 19 from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in SC 201 to chat with President Tofade and enjoy a slice. Welcome Back Week, an effort of the Office of Student Engagement in collaboration with the Activities Programming Board, the Student Government Association, and the Center for Student Success, officially kicks off with the Spring Involvement Fair on Jan. 19 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the Albert M. White Gymnasium. Stop by to learn more about how to get involved on campus, enjoy some food, and have a chance to enter a Nintendo Switch giveaway. The fun continues with the First Annual Winterfest on Jan. 20 from 5-6:30 p.m. in the gym. Celebrate the new semester with friends, crafts, inflatables, and cocoa!

February

February will start off strong with the annual Action Auction hosted by APHA on Feb. 2. This year, ACPHS is hosting the Capital District Feminist Studies (CDFS) consortium conference on Feb. 3. Stay tuned for more information on that event. This year’s Annual Africana Film Series will take place on three Tuesday evenings at 7 p.m. in SC 201 – Feb. 7, 14 and 28 – and follow the theme of “African Music and Dance in Diaspora.” On Feb. 15 from 2-4 p.m., President Tofade will host her inaugural State of the College Address, open to the entire campus community. The Center for Student Success’ Peer Mentor Program will also host a Mardi Gras event, tentatively scheduled for Feb. 21

March
March 17 is an important date as we partner with Albany Medical Center on the 2023 Match Day, an event that will see pharmacy students matched with residencies across the country. ACPHS Has Talent will return in March (date to be determined), bringing together members of the campus community to show off their talents outside of the classroom. Look for details through the Engage platform and via email.

April
April is the College’s biggest month for events, starting with the Annual Dance Show on April 1. The Rho Chi and Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society Induction Ceremony will follow on April 2. ACPHS’ Annual Research Symposium will take place April 7 from 8:30 a.m.-4:40 p.m. in the Rite Aid Lounge. The annual Relay for Life event and All the Way dance for upperclassmen will take place in April as well (dates to be determined). Stay tuned for updates.

May
The spring semester concludes with Commencement on May 13, as we send off this year’s graduates. A commencement website with important dates and deadlines will be online in the coming weeks.

The Center for Student Success will host other events throughout the semester, including the Student Success Series (S3) every Thursday at 11 a.m. from Jan. 26 to March 2 and the Road Map to Residency events with dates to be determined.
