THREE STUDENTS AWARDED AIR FORCE SCHOLARSHIPS

Air Force Scholars
April 20, 2016

Three ACPHS students in the Doctor of Pharmacy program have been named 2016 recipients of Air Force Pharmacist Scholarships.

This past year the Air Force awarded just ten pharmacist scholarships nationwide, so the fact that ACPHS students received three of those scholarships is particularly noteworthy.

The three students are: Greg Correale (left), Bella Wolak (middle), and Steve Sullivan (right). Under the terms of the scholarship, the Air Force will pay each student's tuition for their fourth and final professional year of the pharmacy program (P4), along with fees, supplies, books, and any special equipment that is required for that year. In addition, the students will receive a monthly stipend of $2,178.90 during their P4 year.

Each student will also be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Medical Service Corps of the United States Air Force. While on scholarship, they will be required to spend 45 days on active duty in the Air Force. Once they graduate, they will serve one year of active duty for each year of scholarship, serving a minimum of three years.
