Nawshin is a Senior Associate with The Pew Charitable Trusts' Substance Use Prevention & Treatment Initiative. She provides technical assistance to states seeking to improve access to treatment for opioid use disorder and to reduce the number of overdose deaths.

Before Pew, Nawshin was a Senior Policy Analyst at the National Governors Association and Naloxone Projects Coordinator for the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene. She holds a bachelor's degree in public health from Albany College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, a master's in public health from the University at Albany, SUNY, and a master's in business administration from Stony Brook University. 

In this episode of Occupation Station, Nawshin talks about how her goals and interests evolved during her time at ACPHS. She entered ACPHS thinking that she would become a pharmacist, but her experiences led her to public health, and that in turn, has opened many new doors of opportunity for her.
