Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences' second student-operated pharmacy is up and running.
The College Parkside Pharmacy, on Warren Street in the South End area of Albany, will dispense medications and provide on-site clinical services.
The purpose of the colleges' two student-run pharmacies is to prepare students for jobs after graduation. The pharmacies also provide services to populations that need them most.
"This is a medically underserved region," Greg Dewey, president of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, said during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the pharmacy Wednesday. "There are not a lot of pharmacy services here. We want to be part of the community and provide for this community."
