PHARMACY COLLEGE CHIEF TO STEP DOWN

The president of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is stepping down after a 15-year stint that dramatically transformed and expanded the school's programs and its campus.

On Monday, James Gozzo announced he would serve until June 30, 2014. He leaves the school much stronger than it was when he started in 1998.

Gozzo tripled the school's enrollment, from 600 to 1,700, in his tenure. He expanded the campus from one to eight buildings and grew it from 2 acres to 25. Gozzo expanded the school beyond its core Doctorate of Pharmacy program by adding five undergraduate and five graduate programs.
