The ACPHS chapter of the Industry Pharmacists Organization (IPhO) offers a diverse range of professional development events, from guest speakers to industry tours. Beyond educational and professional experiences, members help organize fundraising activities to support various charities, providing students the opportunity to give back to the community. The organization has partnered with the the Office of Institutional Advancement to launch the ACPHS-IPhO Mentor Program, matching interested students with alumni mentors working in their fields of interest.
The organization hosted its fifth annual Northeast Regional Meeting (NERM) on April 1 with Bernard Tyrell, ACPHS’ Director of the Industry Fellowship Program, as the keynote speaker. During the meeting, students participated in a series of webinars that featured industry professionals, an elevator pitch workshop, and other networking experiences among IPhO chapters in the northeast region.
“The connections I have made through this organization are the most rewarding aspect,” said Manreet Chema, the IPhO Albany chapter president. “Through attending a variety of events, engaging with guest speakers, and speaking with upperclassmen, I have gained invaluable insights into the pharmaceutical industry.”
