ALBANY, NY - Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) is pleased to announce that Dr. Helen Ashuntantang ’06 and Dr. Donna French ’88 have been appointed to the College’s Board of Trustees. Both alumnae will help advance the College’s mission to educate the next generation of leaders to improve the health of our society with their extensive clinical and biopharmaceutical industry experience.
Helen Ashuntantang ‘06, PharmD, MS, MPH, MSL-cert., is a Medical Science Liaison at bioMérieux, Inc., a worldwide leader in in-vitro diagnostics that offers microbiological testing solutions for medical and industrial applications. Prior to bioMérieux, Dr. Ashuntantang worked as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at San Carlos Apache Healthcare Corporation where she provided medication therapy management (MTM) for complex and high-risk patient populations, created the San Carlos Pharmacy Hepatitis C MTM and Medication Reconciliation Programs, and educated the community on disease prevention and safe medication practices. Dr. Ashuntantang also served as a Clinical MTM Pharmacist for both Walmart Central Patient Care Services and Rite Aid Pharmacy.
Donna French ’88, Ph.D., is Vice President, Dosage Form Design & Development at AstraZeneca, a global, science-led biopharmaceutical company where she oversees the biologics portfolio - formulation, drug delivery systems, parenteral devices, and manufacturing process development / technology transfer for drug products and devices. Prior to AstraZeneca, Dr. French served in senior leadership roles at Genentech and Amgen. She has over 25 years of leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical industry and is a globally recognized thought leader for combination (drug + medical device) product development and commercialization.
