When you pass by the Dean of Pharmacy offices in the O’Brien Building these days, you might notice the suite’s outer door propped open with a heavy, oversized mortar-and-pestle doorstop. Upon entering, you may see another open door leading to Dean Elena Umland’s own office.

Elena Umland, PharmD, FNAP, has joined Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences as the dean of its School of Pharmacy, overseeing the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy Practice departments.

Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences announces its Spring 2025 Dean’s List recipients. Approximately 220 students were named to this honor, awarded to full-time students who have successfully completed their coursework with a semester grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 score.

Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences recently celebrated its inaugural Employee Recognition and Appreciation Ceremony. The two and a half hour event featured new employee recognition, promotion & tenure announcements, Blythe Award recommendations, retirement announcements and milestone celebrations, capped off with lunch, group photos and an ice cream truck campus visit.
