ACPHS RANKS SECOND FOR PHARMACY SCHOOLS IN NEW YORK STATE IN U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT LISTING

April 9, 2024

U.S. News & World Report has released its latest pharmacy program rankings and listed Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences the second highest ranked pharmacy school in New York State and #60 among the 141 national schools profiled, making ACPHS among the top ranked in the Northeast.

"As an institution founded 143 years ago, educating pharmacists and pharmacy professionals remains at the core of our mission," said ACPHS President and Professor Toyin Tofade. "We're proud to be recognized for excellence as we continue to educate the next generation of pharmacy and health care professionals."

Standing Out Among the Rest

In addition to the ranking, ACPHS boasts a diverse and close-knit community, dedicated and supportive faculty and advisors, and a vast array of opportunities for residencies, fellowships and internships.

The College also has a unique vantage point among its competitors by supporting underserved communities through neighborhood pharmacies; The Collaboratory, a one-stop public health resource that helps reduce disparities with medication counseling and management; and as the only pharmacy college in the nation to host a biopharmaceutical education and training center dedicated to building a pipeline to industry.

"There are myriad ways for students to practice pharmacy whether it be in a community, hospital or provider setting, as well as from an advocacy, research or industry perspective," said Tofade. "At ACPHS, we provide pathways for students to explore these opportunities so they can decide on the best career trajectory for them."

Pharmacy remains a profitable career option and ACPHS has consistently been ranked within the top two positions both nationally and within New York State for best return-on-investment by the Georgetown University Center on Education and the Workforce (CEW). Currently ACPHS is rated #1 in New York State by CEW.
