Geriatric Residency
The PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacy Residency is a one-year program aimed at developing leadership skills and expertise in geriatric care.
Overview
The PGY2 Geriatric Pharmacy Residency is a one-year postgraduate program designed to develop leadership skills and provide training and experience in various areas of geriatric practice, research, teaching and service. You will care for older adults across multiple practice settings and at various levels of care. The program holds full accreditation from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists through 2029.

Residency Practice Areas
You will be integral to the interprofessional team and the geriatric pharmacotherapy consultation service. The St. Peter’s Health Partners/Eddy Continuing Care Network is a comprehensive continuum of health care, including rehabilitation, hospice, supportive housing and community services, that serves more than 40,000 people annually in 22 counties.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for providing pharmacy services in various clinical settings. This will allow you to develop relationships with patients and practitioners and to become adept at clinical evaluation and medication management in older adults. A customized plan will be developed for you, based on previous experience and interest areas. You will be involved with teaching, research and service activities at ACPHS. You will also participate in teaching activities and professional events for pharmacy students, and are expected to facilitate case-based workshops and serve as a tutor throughout the training year.
At the completion of the program, you will be prepared to pursue credentialing as a board-certified geriatric pharmacotherapy specialist and obtain a position as an advanced-practice geriatric pharmacist or clinical faculty at a school of pharmacy.
