WARM WELCOMES & INSPIRATION GREET NEW ACPHS STUDENTS
The nearly 160 students arriving on the ACPHS campus this week were greeted with high energy and enthusiasm as they moved into their new homes-away-from-home.
More than 20 resident advisors and 40 volunteer orientation leaders met students and their families on Wednesday with upbeat music and loud cheers. Current students and some faculty members, too, helped unpack cars and get freshmen settled into their dormitories. Then it was on to orientation events to learn about residence life, campus safety and each other.
ACPHS President Toyin Tofade introduced herself at the Student Center on Wednesday afternoon, reminding new students and their parents what the college strives to help them achieve.
“Our mission is actually to educate the next generation of leaders so that they can impact the health of society,” President Tofade said. ACPHS freshman will be the generation who changes pharmacy, health policy, science, and research, President Tofade added.
She asked parents to look at the person they had brought to the school. “This is a big deal,” she said. “When you look at your person, I want you to know that they are going to change the world.”
