ACPHS Welcomes New Staff and Realigns Critical Role

Karen Biehler joins ACPHS as director of Human Resources. She will lead the human resources’ team to provide a critical resource for the College’s workforce. Prior to joining ACPHS, she was the human resources director for OrthoNY, and also worked with McLane Food Service Distribution and Pioneer Bank in HR capacities.

A graduate of Siena College, Karen holds more than 20 years of HR experience working in the banking, transportation, and healthcare industries. She is Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certified, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP) certified, is a member of SHRM and the Capital Resource Human Resource Association (CRHRA), and previously served on The Business Council of New York State’s Labor & HR Committee where she regularly took part in their HR advocacy efforts.

Additionally, with the realignment of Administrative Operations’ portfolio split between Finance and Administration and Student Affairs, Kristen Ruby will serve as assistant director of Administrative Operations (ADAO). In this new role, she will continue her responsibilities with Physical Plant, including work orders, purchasing, building access, and more. Kristen will report directly to VP Student Affairs, John Felio, with a dotted line to Senior VP Finance and Administration and CFO, Michele Vien.

Kristen has been with the College since 2015 and joined ACPHS after working at Siena College, Bethlehem Central School District and Maria College. 

Ariel Collins has joined ACPHS as a digital marketing specialist in the Office of Communications and Marketing. Ariel comes into a new role in the department to provide expertise in website content development and digital advertising.

Before joining the College, Ariel worked as a web specialist at the University at Albany, a consultant for the New York State Technology Enterprise Corporation, an assistant communications coordinator for the New York State Assembly, and field organizer for the Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee. She attended Siena College and received her BA in English with a minor in creative arts.
