Seana Stallings '25 - PH Capstone Project

With a Small Wellness Bid Contract from the New York State Department of Health, Public Health major, Seanna Stallings ’25, designed “Seasonal Smarts” a COVID-19 spin-the-wheel cold and flu prevention quiz. She exhibited it at area community events as part of her final capstone project.

Her efforts raised more than $3,500 for The Collaboratory, the College’s community-based hub created in partnership with Trinity Health Alliance, to improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities in Albany’s South End.

Four other public health students also presented their capstone projects in December, including:

  • Shania Jagda: Neuropathological Consequences of Preeclampsia: A Systematic Review of Genetic Factors and Potential Alzheimer’s Disease Association
  • Kaya Watts: Psychiatric Nurse Burnout: Understanding the Issue & Evaluating an Educational Seminar
  • Jonah Wheeler: Creating an Intervention for NYS Schools to Improve Safety and Quality of Life in Adolescents with Epilepsy: A Research, Intervention, and Policy Design Capstone
  • Onika Whyte: From Birth to Stability: The Impact of Paid Maternity Leave

The capstone projects afford students with a tangible way to put into practice what they learned in the classroom, while providing problem solving support to non-profit and community organizations.

These students completed their studies in 2025 and were recognized along with the other 38 December graduates.
