ACPHS Hosting Ribbon Cutting to Celebrate the Opening of its New  Stack Family Center for Biopharmaceutical Education and Training (CBET)

September 13, 2021

ALBANY, NY – Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) is hosting a ribbon cutting to celebrate its new Stack Family Center for Biopharmaceutical Education and Training (CBET) and The Borisenok Family Foundation Lab. The first center of its kind in NYS, and the first in U.S. at a pharmacy college, CBET has the potential to establish the Capital Region as a biopharma hub by helping biopharmaceutical companies:

•            develop biomanufacturing processes and products to get to market faster and more cost effectively

•            train their workforce in all aspects of biomanufacturing including upstream processing, downstream processing, quality control, regulatory issues, and process analytics

•            translate top tier academic research into medically valuable commercial products, and

•            by graduating students with hands-on experience in biopharmaceutical operations

CBET, like the biopharmaceutical industry it supports, has the potential to improve patient lives for generations to come, and its location at the Albany NanoTech Complex alongside SUNY Polytechnic Institute exemplifies the nexus of academia and industry.
