Panther Profile: Charles Middleton

Charles (Chuck) Middleton is a pharmacy doctoral candidate in the Class of 2024. During his six years at ACPHS, he has been captain of the men's soccer team for three years, president of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists’ campus chapter and vice president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. After graduation, he will be a pharmacy resident at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse, New York.

Nearly 40 Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences students were inducted into the Rho Chi Honor Society and the Phi Lambda Sigma Leadership Society at the April 14 ceremony held in the Albert M. White Gymnasium on the ACPHS campus. The ceremony honors are bestowed upon graduate and professional pharmacy students who distinguish themselves by their academic, professional and leadership achievements.

An ACPHS delegation of some 50 pharmacy doctoral students made up about one-fifth of pharmacists and students statewide lobbying state legislators Monday for passage of bills that would expand pharmacists’ scope of practice and access to patient care.

U.S. News & World Report has released its latest pharmacy program rankings and listed Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences the second highest ranked pharmacy school in New York State and #60 among the 141 national schools profiled, making ACPHS among the top ranked in the Northeast.

It takes skills, years of training and grace under pressure to win this pageant -- and we're not talking swimsuit contests. To be crowned Mr./Ms./Mx. Pharmacy by the Lambda Kappa Sigma pharmacy fraternity, Panthers show off their chops in events like compounding and immunization darts. The pageant is one of two signature events for LKS, which is dedicated to elevating women in pharmacy. Congratulations to Ms. Pharmacy Lydia Hilaab, wearing her crown above.
