ACPHS Expands its National Satellite Network for its Hybrid Master’s Program in Cytotechnology

The University of Wisconsin-Madison in Madison, Wisconsin and Health First Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida have joined Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences’ growing network of Satellite Extension Sites to support the hybrid track of its accelerated Master of Science degree in Cytotechnology and Molecular Cytology.

The reduced tuition will be effective in Spring 2026 for THE MS in Health Data Science and in Fall 2026 for the MS in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and MS in Cytotechnology & Molecular Cytology.

ACPHS Kicks Off Spring with Accepted Students Day

Nearly 70 accepted students and their families from states throughout the mid-Atlantic and New England, and as far west as Montana, gathered in the gym on Saturday morning to learn more about the array of programs offered at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in the biomedical, clinical and laboratory, pharmacy and pharmaceutical, and social and behavioral sciences.

The Panther gym was packed and full of anticipation Friday morning – not with athletes but future scientists and health professionals on a mission to reduce the spread of malaria. About 140 top high-school students were on hand for ACPHS’ second Future of Healthcare Workshop. Attendees were nominated by high school leaders in and around the Capital Region for their achievements and interest in STEM careers.

More than 160 sophomores and juniors from high schools across the Capital Region have been nominated by their guidance counselor(s) to participate in an interactive event, "The Future of Health Care," on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Summer 2024 featured training for students of all ages – from middle-school students learning how to make medicine to well-established professionals learning how to market their medical innovations. Potential Panthers visited, and so did state health officials. Current students were here, too, taking the opportunity to delve into research or add an experience to their resumes.

March Accepted Students Day

March 18, 2024

The first of two spring Accepted Student Days held on campus on March 16, 2024 was a success, with more than 50 students participating. Compared to a year ago, more students registered, attended and made deposits – confirming their commitment to become Panthers in the fall. Surveys showed that accepted students rated the day’s experience as positive too. Kudos to the Enrollment Management team and all others who assisted with this important event!

High school students considering futures in STEM careers set campus abuzz on Friday during ACPHS’ inaugural Future of Healthcare Workshop, a daylong event. About 150 exceptional students from nearly 45 public and private high schools, who were recommended by their school administrators, attended the event.
