The School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has updated its pharmacy admissions process to remove the PCAT requirement for ACPHS students with Early Assurance into the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The change will become effective starting with the class who enters the first professional year (P1) in fall 2018

Assistant Professor Tim LaRocca has been awarded a three-year research grant totaling $480,000 to study a specific type of red blood cell death (called “necroptosis”) and explore ways to influence this process. The grant is being funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health

Associate Professor Meenakshi Malik has been awarded a three-year research grant totaling $480,000 to expand her study of Francisella tularensis, a bacterium that causes a potentially fatal disease called tularemia. The grant is being funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH)

ACPHS has received approval from the New York State Education Department to offer a new dual degree program that will allow students to obtain a Bachelor's in Microbiology and a Master's in Molecular Biosciences in just five years. It would typically take six years to pursue each degree separately

The College’s second student operated pharmacy, located on the first floor of Albany’s Capital South Campus Center, will provide members of the local community with a range of pharmacy and health care services.
