A student takes notes from instructor during future healthcare event

More than 160 sophomores and juniors from high schools across the Capital Region have been nominated by their guidance counselor(s) to participate in an interactive event, “The Future of Health Care,” on Friday, February 7, 2025, at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The students were recommended based on educational achievement and commitment, with expressed interest in science, math or health care.

With U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics forecasting that employment in health care occupations will grow twice as fast as all other occupations from 2022 to 2032, ACPHS designed the event to uncover the next generation of health care leaders who could be educated to fill those roles.

The event will feature a group case study. Students will be divided into four groups of differing disciplines to examine this case from each discipline’s perspective, including Biomedical SciencesClinical and Health Sciences, Social and Behavorial Sciences, and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences — all groups representative of the wide array of health sciences programming offered at ACPHS.
