The Student Government Association (SGA) is the voice of the students at ACPHS. We’re the bridge between the student body and the college administration—working to make your ideas heard, your concerns addressed and your campus experience unforgettable.
Led by a dynamic Executive Board, the SGA helps shape student life. The chairs of the board’s Clubs and Professional Organizations Committee support student clubs, professional organizations, fraternities and special- interest groups.
The SGA Senate is where students from all class years and special-interest groups come together to lead, collaborate and create change.

Clubs
Into tennis, crafting or gaming? There’s a club for that! Whatever you’re into, there’s a club to help you find space to grow your interests or explore new ones.
Alzheimer’s Awareness Club hosts fun and meaningful events to educate, raise awareness, fundraise and advocate for those affected by one of the leading challenges in brain health today.
Animals in Medical Professions (AMP) fosters a positive environment regarding pets, emotional support animals, service animals and creatures of all kinds through education, advocacy and service. AMP’s mission is to inspire students to increase their awareness, knowledge and skills around the role of animals in health care and general wellness.
Another Creative Perspective (ACP) promotes creativity and provides a platform for students to showcase their talents on campus. ACP’s mission is to offer students fun and exciting opportunities to express themselves creatively.
Boxing Club offers students the opportunity to learn boxing in a positive environment that encourages teamwork and builds self-esteem.
Black Student Union (BSU) provides an inclusive space for all Black students while promoting proactive leadership, student growth, empowerment and networking through community outreach. BSU advocates a sense of pride and appreciation of Black culture and heritage.
Colleges Against Cancer, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, is a nationwide collaboration of college students, faculty and staff in the fight against cancer. The group raises awareness, advocates for research, supports survivors, and leads the annual Relay for Life event—all with a shared commitment to finding a cure.
Commuter Student Club connects current and new ACPHS commuter students to build community and promotes active commuter student involvement within both the ACPHS community and the community at large.
Compounding Club educates students on potential careers through opportunities to create items, such as lip balm and soap, in a friendly environment. The Compounding Club’s main goal is to grow a passion for compounding on campus while exploring it in fun and creative ways.
Craft Club hosts fun and easy-to-do DIY crafts. Previous crafts include spray-paint mortar and pestles, paint nights led by faculty members, DIY tote bags and much more. The Craft Club is a great way to unwind from classwork and enjoy time with other students on campus.
Dance Team is a chance to build skills, learn fun routines and make friends along the way. The team brings energy to fall basketball games with hip-hop performances and showcases a mix of dance styles in a special spring show you won’t want to miss!
Equestrian Club is for anyone who loves horses and wants to spend time with them. No experience is necessary. The Equestrian Club is a great way to unwind, connect with amazing animals and enjoy some much-needed stress relief with a little “animal therapy.”
Game Club is all about hanging out with your friends and playing some of the best video games, board games, card games or any type of game that interests you! This club is open to everyone and focuses on having fun, unwinding and making friends.
The Green Team brings students together through events like clean-up days and recycling challenges to promote sustainability and environmental awareness.
Integrative Medicine Club explores wellness from every angle—mind, body and soul—with an integrative approach. We combine allopathic and complementary alternative practices to promote a holistic approach to health. From compounding to guided meditation and guest speakers, our events help you discover new ways to care for yourself and others.
Jewish Cultural Club (JCC) is open to all students and aims to bring the Jewish community to ACPHS through regular events and celebrations.
Journal Club provides all students with education and examples of what a journal should look like when you reach clinical rotations and become a professional in practice.
The Lighthouse is a faith-based community that welcomes people of all faiths. Through service, connection and sharing the love of Christ, we aim to care for both the physical and spiritual needs of those around us.
Multicultural Club (MCC) focuses on the celebration and education of different cultures and their holidays. MCC’s goal is to spark cultural curiosity and provide students the chance to learn and experience different cultures in fun and innovative ways.
Muslim Student Association (MSA) supports Muslim students while creating a space for everyone to learn about Islam and celebrate religious diversity. MSA brings together people of all backgrounds and faith to promote understanding, community and personal growth—intellectually, physically and spiritually. All are welcome, no matter where you are on your faith journey.
Orthodox Christian Student Association (OCSA) is open to all students and provides opportunities to grow spiritually and learn more about Orthodox Christianity.
Pinky Swear PACK raises awareness for pediatric cancer on campus as well as in the community through fundraisers and events.
Pre-Physician Assistant Club is for students interested in pursuing PA school or who simply want to learn more about the profession. The club hosts professional and student speakers and explores various PA programs in the area. It provides students with opportunities to understand the PA profession and support each other along the way.
Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA) works to make ACPHS a safe, welcoming and inclusive space for people of all gender identities and sexual orientations. Through events, discussions and community-building, SAGA promotes understanding, de-stigmatizes conversations around gender and sexuality, and empowers everyone to express their true selves with pride and confidence.
Students Performing Arts in the Healthcare Community (SPAHC) is an on-campus music and performing-arts group. Band, strings and vocal groups meet weekly to practice and host musical performances for everyone to enjoy.
Tennis Club is the perfect match for players of all skill levels. We keep things flexible and low-pressure, with games played on indoor and outdoor courts, mostly on weekends. It’s a great way to stay active, meet new people and enjoy the game at your own pace.

American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP) helps student pharmacists explore the psychiatric and neurologic pharmacy specialty while promoting mental-health awareness and advocacy. Through events, speakers and hands-on opportunities, AAPP educates students on the unique needs of individuals living with mental illness, encourages open dialogue and works to reduce stigma within the ACPHS community.
American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) is a premier professional and scientific organization of pharmaceutical scientists dedicated to the discovery, development and manufacture of pharmaceutical products and therapies through advances in science and technology. The AAPS-ACPHS Student Chapter serves the campus and students by sparking interest in the pharmaceutical sciences, encouraging student participation in research and facilitating research-related activities.
American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) is a professional and scientific organization dedicated to advancing clinical pharmacy through leadership, education, advocacy and patient care. Students gain hands-on experience by providing direct care to community residents through programs like Cardiovascular and Renal Evaluation (CaRE) screenings, Script Your Future events, and Clinical Pharmacy Challenge nights—building both skills and impact along the way.
Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP) is a national professional society of pharmacists, health-care practitioners and others who develop and provide clinical, educational and business-management services. AMCP connects pharmacy students with the world of managed health care.
The ACPHS student chapter offers hands-on experiences and insight into managed-care pharmacy practices through events like health screenings, the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) competition, national conferences, career panels and more. It’s a great way to learn, lead and network with professionals in the field.
American Medical Student Association (AMSA) has a half-century history of medical-student activism and is the oldest and largest independent association of physicians-in-training in the United States. AMSA members are medical students, premedical students, interns, residents and practicing physicians. AMSA is the only national, independent, student-led association dedicated to physicians-in-training.
American Pharmacists Association-Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is dedicated to improving patient care and providing students with opportunities for professional growth. Through impactful patient-care projects like diabetes education, immunization advocacy, and prescription-drug-abuse awareness, members reach people of all ages, from kids to seniors. APhA-ASP welcomes students from all class years and supports every pharmacy career path.
American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ACPHS-ASCP) focuses on the vital role pharmacists play in senior and long-term care. The student chapter lobbies for the participation and education of student pharmacists in long-term-care pharmacy and assists in meeting the needs of an ever-growing senior population. ACPHS-ASCP focuses on serving through volunteering and fundraising with the local senior and long-term care populations of the Capital Region of New York. ASCP’s goal is to promote healthy aging and improve the quality of life for long-term care residents by advocating for appropriate medication use and optimizing patient health outcomes.
Industry Pharmacists Organization (IPhO) is for students interested in careers in the pharmaceutical industry. The chapter provides professional development and networking opportunities through workshops and guest speakers. Follow ACPHS IPhO on Instagram.
Microbiology & Infectious Disease Organization (MIDO) brings together undergraduate and graduate students interested in career opportunities in microbiology and infectious diseases. Members connect with faculty, explore career paths and dive into the latest discoveries through exciting discussions and events. MIDO also fosters mentorship between graduate and undergraduate students, helping build both academic and professional skills.
Doctors Without Borders (MSF) provides members with opportunities to engage with the work of the international charity Médecins Sans Frontières, help raise funds for the organization and host events on campus, as well as volunteer around the Albany area to support the cause. The MSF-ACPHS coalition raises awareness on the importance of health-care accessibility, starting with our local community, and encourages peers to mirror and act upon the mission.
National Community Oncology Dispensing Association (NCODA) works to advance the value of dispensing practices for oncology physicians through leadership, expertise, quality standards and sharing best practices with all members. NCODA’s goal is to strengthen oncology organizations through the adoption of quality standards and sharing of best practices to provide the best care possible for the patient through collaborative efforts between oncologists and pharmacists.
National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA) is an organization of students, pharmacists and other advocates that promote independent pharmacy growth. Explore the field of independent pharmacy through visits to independent pharmacies, coordinating Bone Density & Women’s Health events, fighting for independent pharmacy legislation and hosting CPR trainings on campus.
Pediatric Pharmacy Association unites students interested in pediatric pharmacy to educate patients and their families on the importance of medication safety through Collaboration, Advocacy, Research, Education (CARE).
Public Health Association (PHA) is determined to educate, improve and expand the knowledge of public health among students through a variety of curricular and co-curricular student activities.
Phi Lambda Sigma, Pharmacy Leadership Society (PLS) is a national leadership society dedicated to the recognition, contributions and support of pharmacy students to their school, community and chosen profession. Admission into the society is based on peer recognition of an individual’s leadership and organizational skills demonstrated throughout their time at the College. Applicants must successfully complete 90 semester hours at ACPHS with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Students enrolled in the P1 year of pharmacy school or above are eligible to apply for membership.
Rho Chi Academic Honor Society is the national academic honor society for pharmacy, celebrating excellence in scholarship, professionalism and leadership. Membership is by invitation only and reserved for full-time pharmacy students in the top 20% of their class. Beyond academics, Rho Chi promotes activities centered around a “balance beyond the books” theme through activities like exam reviews, trivia nights, and collaborative projects with other clubs and organizations—recently tackling topics like prescription-drug abuse and pharmacy advocacy.
Student Pharmacist Society of the State of New York (SPSSNY) is an affiliate of the Pharmacist Society of the State of New York. SPSSNY unites state pharmacists for mutual assistance, encouragement and improvement in order to maintain the standard of pharmacy practice at a high professional and ethical level.
Student Society of Health Systems Pharmacy (ASHP-SSHP) introduces students to pharmacy practice in health systems while supporting their professional growth. From exploring career paths and credentials to developing leadership skills, SSHP prepares future pharmacists for success. SSHP also collaborates with the New York State Council of Health-System Pharmacists (NYSCHP).

Co-ed fraternities offer the community and camaraderie of Greek life without the gender barriers, welcoming all students who share a passion for professional growth, philanthropy and friendship.
Lambda Kappa Sigma (LKS) is co-ed professional social pharmacy fraternity whose mission is to empower women in pharmacy. LKS provides opportunities for members to engage in philanthropic, professional, and social events. LKS encourages members to develop their professional and personal integrity, leadership, and scholarship.
Phi Delta Chi (PDC) is a co-ed professional social pharmacy fraternity that strives to advance the science of pharmacy and promote a fraternal spirit among its brothers. The Alpha Theta chapter plans several professional and service projects both on campus and in the community, including the Hannaford Initiative, which consists of several presentations on campus and in the community and hosting a blood drive each semester with the American Red Cross. PDC provides many opportunities to develop future leaders in pharmacy while building lasting connections that span coast to coast.
Rho Pi Phi (ROPE) is a co-ed professional social pharmacy fraternity dedicated to friendship, professionalism and community service. Giving back to the community is a pillar of the organization, and ROPE connections span both national and international.
