Marc Watrous ’91 has been appointed to the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Board of Trustees; he currently serves as Senior Vice President of Managed Care and Customer Operations (MCCO) for Genentech, a leading biotechnology company.
Dr. Watrous is responsible for Genentech’s strategic approach and the execution of pricing, distribution, reimbursement, and patient support for the company’s portfolio. He is a member of the company’s U.S. Leadership Team and reports directly to the CEO.
Since joining Genentech as a health economist in 1997, he has held a variety of leadership positions in areas that include health economics, R&D portfolio, and project management and managed care. Prior to his current role, Dr. Watrous held leadership positions in account management, patient access services, and managed care marketing. Before joining Genentech, he served in SmithKline Beecham’s global product strategy group.
He holds a B.S. degree in Pharmacy from ACPHS and a Ph.D. in Pharmacy Administration with a focus in marketing and pharmacoeconomics from the University of South Carolina.
