Dawn Thompson, secretary for ACPHS Board of Trustees

Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) announces the most recent changes to its Board of Trustees. These changes were approved at its fall meeting in October 2025.

Dawn Thompson, JD, has been appointed Secretary of the Board of Trustees, following Richard H. Daffner’s’63, MD, FACR, RPh term. Dr. Daffner will remain on the board as a trustee.

Alumnus Dave Stack ’76, retired Chairman and CEO at Pacira Biosciences Inc., has concluded his most recent term after several years of service. He was the founding donor for the College’s Stack Family Center for Biopharmaceutical Education and Training (CBET), which is committed to bridging academia and industry together on biopharmaceutical education and innovation.

The esteemed roster of leaders from the pharmaceutical, health sciences, and business fields support the College in its mission to educate the next generation of leaders to improve the health of society.

Walter Borisenok, LHD, has been chairperson since 2023. Board officers also include Treasurer William Shields ’84, RPh, MBA, and newly appointed Secretary, Dawn Thompson, JD.

“We’re very grateful for the years of service that Dave gave to our Board,” said Borisenok. “He played an integral role in guiding the College to carve out a prominent role in the biotech space which created a pipeline for companies, educators and students alike.”
