Professor Jessica Farrell ’07, PharmD, recently presented at the 7th Annual Rheumatology Advanced Practice Providers (RhAPP) National Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dr. Farrell also specializes in rheumatology at Albany Medical Center.

A clinical pharmacist dedicated to advancing patient care through pharmacotherapy expertise, patient education, and research focused on autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis and scleroderma, gave the following four presentations at the conference:

  • The Dryness Deception: Your Comprehensive Guide to Sjögren’s Syndrome Beyond Sicca: An Interactive Sjögren’s Disease Bootcamp with co-presenter, Tiffany Terrell, NP
  • Year in Review with Q&A with co-presenter, Audrey Gibson, PA-C
  • Optimizing Care in Systemic Sclerosis: An Interprofessional Case-Based Discussion with co-presenters, Arifa Javed, MD, and Natalia Trehan, DMD

Dr. Farrell serves as a member of the RhAPP Board of Directors and as part of the National Conference planning committee. In this capacity, the committee ensures that continuing medical education (CME) programming addresses the professional practice gaps of rheumatology APPs.

In addition, kudos to ACPHS PGY-2 Ambulatory Care Resident, Ava Shimkus, PharmD, who was presented with a scholarship to attend the conference and was part of the RhAPPardy Competition winning team this year.
