RESEARCH INTERESTS
Dr. Poitelon is co-leading the Myelin Laboratory at the Albany Medical College. Dr. Poitelon has a broad background in genetics, neuromuscular disorders and specific training in cell biology of myelinating cells. He notably developed in vitro system to study axon-glia interaction and pioneered the concept of mechanobiology in myelinating glial cells. Dr. Poitelon’s current research focuses on mechanisms underlying myelin formation in health and disease.
