Dear Colleagues:
You may have heard the unsettling news this week that the College of St. Rose will cease operations at the conclusion of the Spring 2024 semester. I have been in daily communications with President Marcia White since the first story broke this week to offer support on behalf of our caring ACPHS community.
As private colleges each with over a century of history in the City of Albany, I have communicated to President White that our team stands ready and able to provide support and assistance to students, faculty and staff who may need it at this time.
We understand the myriad pressures currently facing the higher education industry, especially those which particularly impact small- to medium-sized private colleges. As uncertain as the future can be, with 142 years of history as an academic institution, ACPHS is deeply committed to forging ahead with a plan for continued, sustainable growth.
With the College’s long-term future in mind, we are eager to share the new 2024-2029 ACPHS Strategic Plan, which will serve as a road map of the College’s vision for the next five years. The Strategic Plan was designed with several goals in mind, including enhancing our students’ academic and social experiences while driving long-term growth and sustainability for the College, among others.
The Strategic Plan was truly a community-wide effort developed over the last several months by a cross-functional committee comprising dedicated faculty, staff and students. Additional information about the campus launch of the Strategic Plan will be forthcoming.
As we continue to strengthen ACPHS for future growth, we underscore our commitment to our core values of community, respect and collaboration through our support of our neighbors at The College of St. Rose.
If you know a student, administrator, faculty or staff member, alumni or anyone from the St. Rose community, I respectfully ask you to please reach out to extend your support during this time of transition.
Sincerely,
Toyin Tofade, MS, PharmD, BCPS, CPCC, FFIP
President and Professor
