Office of Research and Sponsored Programs

The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP) supports faculty members throughout the lifecycle of sponsored funds by helping ensure each faculty member has the resources and information they need to be successful.

The support provided by the Office includes (1) identification of funding opportunities; (2) proposal guidance and submission; (3) management, reporting, and closure of awarded grants; and (4) publication of research results.

ORSP is comprised of:

Office of Grants Administration

The primary objectives of OGA are to: 

  • Assist in identifying funding opportunities
  • Provide technical assistance in the preparation of grant submissions and related budgets
  • Ensure compliance of proposal submissions with College, Sponsor and Federal Guidelines 

Committees

Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)
The IACUC is charged with ensuring the appropriate performance of all research activities involving the use of vertebrate animals.

Institutional Review Board (IRB)
The IRB is charged with the protection of the safety, welfare, rights, and privacy of all participants in human subject research conducted under the auspices of the College. The IRB ensures that all human subject research performed by the administration, faculty, staff, or students of the College conform to federal and state requirements. 

Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC)
The IBC is charged with ensuring that scientific research involving bio specimens is conducted with the appropriate training, review and monitoring.

Institutional Laboratory Safety Committee (ILSC)
The ILSC is responsible for developing and implementing policies and practices that promote a safe work environment for faculty, staff, and students. The committee coordinates training and disseminates other pertinent information that helps ensure that research and teaching are conducted in as safe a manner as possible. The ILSC is also responsible for seeing that appropriate safety equipment is available and that prudent practices are employed in the operation of College laboratories.

Research Committee
The Research Committee is an administrative committee established to foster research at ACPHS. Its role is to offer recommendations to the Director of Research on issues related to: intramural grants; extramural grants and contracts; institutional research integrity; creative and entrepreneurial activities; and related policies and procedures.
