We invite you to join day two of the Annual Research Symposium students and faculty will showcase their research through poster and oral podium presentations..

Anton Simeonov, PhD will be the keynote speaker at our 2021 Annual Research Symposium on Friday, April 9, 2020 from 9:20-10:20am and will present “Challenges and Opportunities in Small Molecule Translation”

Dr. Simeonov is the scientific director of the Division of Pre-Clinical Innovation, National Center for Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institute of Health.. Dr. Simeonov has a truly diverse background, ranging from bioorganic chemistry and molecular biology to clinical diagnostic research and development. He received a B.A. in chemistry from Concordia College, a Ph.D. in bioorganic chemistry from the University of Southern California and was  postdoctoral fellow at the Scripps Research Institute training under Richard Lerner, M.D., and Kim Janda, Ph.D.

Prior to joining NIH in November 2004, Simeonov was a senior scientist at Caliper Life Sciences, a leading developer of microfluidic technologies, where he was responsible for basic research on novel assay methodologies and development of microfluidic products for research and clinical diagnostics. He is the author or inventor on more than 140 peer-reviewed scientific publications and patents.
