Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences - Vermont Campus

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences on the Colchester, Vermont Campus focuses on the development of epigenetic drug candidates based on the structural biology of bromodomains and other histone-related proteins and the medicinal chemistry of sirtuin effectors and other ligands of epigenetic targets.

Other areas of departmental emphasis include the molecular and cellular biology of anticancer drugs and drug candidates, computational prediction of protein-ligand structures and binding affinities, and the optimization of trans-bilayer transport of the drug candidates.

The Department offers a master’s degree program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (the M.S. program is offered on both of the College's campuses) in addition to teaching courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The faculty, with the help of students, also participate in larger-scale, joint projects aimed at establishing a Center of Excellence in Epigenetics.
