Applying With AHCAS

Use AHCAS to apply for the M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences and M.S. in Cytotechnology and Molecular Cytology programs.

Fall Admissions Deadlines

Apply With AHCAS
 

  • B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited institution with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. The degree must be conferred prior to enrollment at ACPHS.
  • Completion of appropriate pre-requisite courses:
    • M.S. in Clinical Laboratory Sciences: 
      • General Biology I & II (both with lab)
      • General Chemistry I & II (both with lab)
      • Anatomy & Physiology I & II (both with lab)
      • Organic Chemistry (with lab)
      • Biochemistry (with lab)
         
    • M.S. Cytotechnology and Molecular Cytology: 
      • General Biology I & II (both with lab)
      • General Chemistry I & II (both with lab)
      • Anatomy & Physiology I & II (both with lab)
      • Organic Chemistry (with lab)
      • Cell Biology (with lab)
  • Completed and officially submitted AHCAS applicationinclusive of:
    • Names and contact information of two (2) faculty or professional references 
    • Personal essay outlining why you wish to pursue graduate studies in your selected program at ACPHS, your specific interest in the clinical field of choice and your future career goals
    • Current resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
       
  • Official transcripts for all college-level coursework, including college-level coursework completed while in high school. An official WES or ECE evaluation must be submitted for all coursework completed outside of the United States. All official transcripts or WES/ECE evaluations must be sent directly to AHCAS (not to ACPHS) via the National Student Clearinghouse, Parchment, or Credentials Solutions or mailed by the authorized institution, using the following address:

  • Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) results are NOT required of applicants who have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or higher. In some cases, applicants with a GPA of less than 3.0 may be considered for admission. These applicants are REQUIRED to submit official GRE scores to be considered for admission. The GRE must have been completed within the past five (5) years and be sent directly to the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (Code 2013) by ETS.

In addition to the required application materials listed above, international applicants are also required to submit the following documentation:

  • Official TOEFL (minimum score of 84) or IELTS (minimum score of 7) results. *This requirement may be waived for applicants who have been studying in the United States for at least two (2) years immediately prior to the time of application. Official results should be submitted directly to the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (*use code 2013 if submitting TOEFL).
