Class of 1969 Garden
In 2019, as their 50th class reunion drew to a close, a group of classmates from the Class of 1969 gathered together to consider a legacy gift. They wanted to create a lasting impression on the College that had helped them launch their careers, and a gift that would fund a project meaningful to the time they spent at the College. With this in mind, they settled on contributing to the Campus Master Plan, which is a long-term vision to revitalize and sustain ACPHS.
Born from the knowledge that they were the last class to have a formal course in Pharmacognosy, they envisioned a gift of a medicinal garden that would be a prominent part of the redesigned Campus Green. It will be a “living” gift to promote an understanding of botanicals in the medical professions.
The Campus Green phase of the Master Plan is scheduled to begin in the Spring, an ideal time for a new beginning. The goal for the Class of 1969 Gift is to raise at least $60,000 to fund the creation of a medicinal garden at ACPHS. An anonymous donor has pledged the last $20,000, if $40,000 is raised by March 1st, 2021.
