The 143rd Commencement of the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences took place on a glorious spring day, May 11, 2023. More than 260 students received bachelor’s, masters and doctorate degrees. Their sense of achievement was apparent in the jubilation of the day

ACPHS is a close-knit community, and students and alumni alike share a special bond. There may be no group for whom this is more true than 10 students who graduated on May 13, 2023 from the satellite campus in Colchester, Vermont. These students committed to a rigorous, accelerated pharmacy doctorate program in Spring 2020, just as COVID-19 was turning the world upside down

Twenty-three students from both the Albany and Vermont campus were recognized for their academic, professional, and extracurricular achievements. Most of the awards were given at the annual Student Recognition and Awards dinners held on May 10 and 11

Kaitlyn Strumski was thoughtful in her selection of college, taking, as anyone who knows her might expect, a researcher’s approach. She chose ACPHS based on her subject interests, as well as the faculty-to-student ratio and the value she expected to receive on her investment

Finals week is always a bit stressful. But ACPHS students found ways to decompress. The Green Team organized a trip to Grafton Lakes State Park, therapy dogs strolled through the library, faculty and staff served the late-night Snack Attack, and there were games to play in the Panthers Den

Zachary Lanoue and Lauren Schmidt are two members of the Class of 2023 pursuing residencies next year. Of the 154 Class of 2023 candidates expected to receive doctorates in pharmacy this month, 36 will pursue advanced training opportunities through residencies and industry fellowships

LaDanielle McNeil has lived in a medically underserved community, tried to secure medical care as an immigrant and juggled full-time responsibilities at home and on the job.  Now, with her degree in public health from ACPHS, she’s ready to use that experience to inform her future work in nursing and help improve access to care
