Pharmacy Student Receives National Award

ACPHS Student Dan Corwin has been named a recipient of an American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Student Scholarship. Dan, a student in his fourth professional year of the Pharm.D. program, is just one of 13 students from around the country to be so honored.

The APhA Student Scholarship Program recognizes those actively involved in the Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) who exhibit exceptional leadership skills and excel academically.

Dan was named the recipient of the Colonel Jerry W. Ross Scholarship, which is given annually to an individual who demonstrates the Air Force core values of excellence, selflessness, integrity, leadership, and academics.

Colonel (Ret.) Jerry W. Ross was a trailblazer for military pharmacy over a 30-year Air Force career. Many of the programs and opportunities available to technicians and pharmacists today are a direct result of the contributions of Colonel Ross.

Dan and the other recipients will be recognized on March 31, 2014, at the APhA Foundation Contributors’ Breakfast taking place during the 2014 APhA Annual Meeting and Exposition in Orlando.

Scholarships will be officially presented at the APhA-ASP Opening General Session on Saturday, March 29, at 1:30pm.
