Assistant Professor, Molecular/Cell Biology

Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS), a private institution with a 125-year tradition located in Albany, NY, is seeking applications for a faculty position in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at its satellite campus near Burlington, VT.

A tenure-track assistant professor position is available starting summer 2014 in the area of molecular or cell biology. Responsibilities include teaching in the Pharm.D. and graduate programs, establishing or maintaining an extramurally-funded research program, and participation in the service missions of the college.

Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related discipline, postdoctoral experience, a strong commitment to teaching excellence, graduate education, and continuing scholarship. We are particularly interested in adding to and complementing our Department’s strength in epigenetics. Current faculty research includes: structural biology of histone-related proteins, medicinal chemistry of sirtuins, molecular/cell biology of cancer, computational drug design, and membrane transport. An interest in the development of new epigenetic targets and drug candidates for these or existing targets is highly desirable. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are required.
