Fraternities and Professional Organizations
The College has a number of organizations and fraternities open to all students.
These organizations and fraternities are involved in a variety of activities including
state and federal legislation, presentations to local groups, community service
and advancing the academic success of their members.
- American Chemical Society – This society secures
speakers for on-campus presentations and encourages students to pursue specific
chemical research projects.
- Phi Lambda Sigma – Students are selected for membership
by this national society on the basis of their service and leadership in the advancement
of pharmacy.
- Rho Chi – After six semesters, students in the top
fifth of their class with an 85 average are eligible for membership in this prestigious
national honor society.
- APS-SPSSNY – Members of this Student Pharmaceutical
Society of the State of NewYork are directly involved in professional issues and
legislation affecting pharmacy.
- Student Society of Health System Pharmacists (ACPHS-SSHP)
– The mission of this society is to provide information to students about career
directions in and credentials needed for pharmacy practice.
- Phi Delta Chi – This fraternity sponsors a wide
range of professional and social events, including lecture series, a food drive,
a career fair and a number of social functions.
- Rho Pi Phi – This international pharmacy fraternity
sponsors an annual Poison Prevention Program with information booths at local malls
and conducts a Bowlathon for charity.
