Clubs and Activities
WHAT'S YOUR INTEREST? Outdoors? Indoors? Team activities? Individual? Making something?
Making friends? It's all here and very easy to get involved.
Craft Club - Begun a decade ago, this club brings together
students, faculty and staff to exchange ideas and experiences, teach new skills,
make friends and donate money to local charities through quilt raffles and craft
sales.
Cross Country - Formed for anyone who enjoys running.
This club participates in local races throughout the school year.
Dance Team - This club is open to students interested
in learning to dance or who have been dancing for years.This club performs at ACPHS
basketball games and holds shows on campus.
Equestrian Club - Open to the experienced and the novice,
members learn about everything from feeding to riding horses.
Golf Club - A great way to enjoy the nice weather, the
golf club organizes group outings to local golf clubs.
Hip-Hop Club - One of the newest clubs on campus, this
club gives students opportunities to learn about all aspects of hip hop, from dancing
to the history of the culture.
Lacrosse Club - Members participate in local scrimmages
and tournaments during the fall and spring against other club teams from local colleges.
Multi-Cultural Club - For the culturally-minded, this
Club arranges trips to ethnic neighborhoods, restaurants, movies, and arranges an
International Bazaar and Food Festival.
Orthodox Christian Student Association - Open to all students,
this club aims to provide everyone an opportunity to grow spiritually. OCSA is a
welcoming venue for those interested in learning more about Christianity. Club activities
include a weekly Bible study, local community service projects and an open gym night.
Outdoors Club - Each year, members engage in white-water
rafting, biking, snowshoeing, camping, rock-climbing, and other interesting outdoor
activities including a SCUBA diving trip to Honduras for members during January.
PharmAcappella - A new choral group of amazing talent,
this club performs at campus events, carols at the College and local nursing homes
and holds concerts on or off campus.
Service Club -This club helps students get involved in
the community and fosters a service-mindedness needed in future roles as health
care professionals. Activities range from helping out at benefit walks, volunteering
at homeless shelters, playing bingo with children in the hospital, cooking meals
for the Ronald McDonald House, and many other service-oriented activities.
Ski and Snowboard Club - For skiers and snowboarders,
this Club takes advantage of the many ski areas within a few hours of Albany . Frequent
night and weekend activities are scheduled.
Student Government Association -There are many leadership
opportunities in student government representing your class and voting on issues
impacting you and your classmates.
Tennis Club - Members of the tennis club play on campus
a few nights a week, as well as host charity tennis tournaments.
Tolerance Club - Presenting a forum where a variety of
ideas can be discussed, within an educated and professional atmosphere, to promote
tolerance on campus.
Ultimate Frisbee Club - Ultimate Frisbee is a cross between
football, soccer, and basketball. Grab a few friends and put a team together for
this great way to stay active.
