ACPHS Awarded $150,000 Economic Development Grant from New York State

ALBANY, N.Y. – December 19, 2012 – Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has been awarded a $150,000 Empire State Development grant to help upgrade its laboratory facilities for student and research use, including installation of precision instrumentation.

The College, which was one of the organizations highlighted in today's funding announcement from New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, is in the midst of a multi-year Science and Research Laboratories Renovations Project. The initiative will feature a wide range of enhancements, including the addition of new equipment, to its Microbiology, Chemistry, and Pharmaceutics labs.

“We would like to thank the State of New York and the Capital Region Economic Development Council for this award,” said ACPHS President James Gozzo. “The enhancements we have planned for our laboratory facilities will enable the College to advance its growing research programs, and in the process, ensure that ACPHS students continue to receive the types of laboratory experiences that will lead to successful careers in health care, science, and research.”
