Assistant Professor, Cytotechnology
The Department of Health Sciences at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS) seeks candidates for a tenure-track faculty position in the Master of Science in Cytotechnology and Molecular Cytology program. This is a tenure-track, 12-month faculty position to commence July 1, 2013. Primary responsibilities include instruction of the students and participation in program organization, administration, continuous quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, student assessments, and compliance with accreditation standards.
Qualified applicants will have ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist; demonstrated competence in the area of diagnostic cytopathology with 5 years of professional experience after CT(ASCP) certification; working knowledge of educational theory or practice; college or clinical teaching experience, including graduate education i.e., pathology residents/fellows education and an earned doctorate (MS with work toward the doctorate will be considered). The successful candidate will demonstrate the aptitude and interest in assuming the directorship of the program upon the retirement of the current program director.
The Cytotechnology program is accredited by CAAHEP and is registered with the Office of Professions of the New York State Department of Education. ACPHS is a private college located in New York State’s Capital Region that offers a pre-pharmacy curriculum in addition to undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Technology, Chemistry, Health and Human Sciences, Microbiology and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The College also has graduate programs in Biotechnology, Health Outcomes Research, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacy.
