Dean of the School of Graduate Studies

Position Description

Reporting to the Provost, the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies provides institution-wide leadership in building the areas of graduate education and post-graduate training programs at all schools of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The Dean oversees, develops and implements institutional policies and guidelines related to graduate recruitment, admission, retention, financial aid, curriculum development, new part-time and full-time program development, graduate review process and academic standards. As a member of the College’s Executive Committee, the Dean will be conversant with all aspects of the College’s growth at both the Albany and Vermont campuses and will represent and advocate all issues of graduate education in campus planning. The Dean will serve as Chair of the Graduate Council and act as a liaison with local health, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries for collaboration in establishing an industrial clerkship for graduate students.

Qualifications
A doctorate degree and demonstrated record of successful administrative leadership, scholarly activity and graduate teaching/supervision is required. Successful candidates will have grant writing experience, extensive publication and scholarship record, and/or successful experience in fundraising and development activities. Successful candidates will also have the ability to be an effective, enthusiastic, and creative member of a dynamic leadership team working collaboratively across the College and with external constituents.
