Pre-Physician Assistant Studies

Our academic affiliation with Albany Medical College (AMC) allows a select group of entering freshmen concurrent admission into ACPHS and AMC's Physician Assistant Studies program. 

This Pre-Physician Assistant Studies program, which is available to students in any of ACPHS's bachelor's programs, allows students to earn their B.S. degree while preparing for admission into Albany Medical Center's Master's-level Physician Assistant Studies program or other PA programs throughout the nation.

Once accepted into the program, a student must carry a full course load in his/her respective bachelor's program while maintaining a minimum GPA of a 3.2 each semester at ACPHS to assure subsequent matriculation into AMC's program. The Graduate Record Examination is waived for qualified students in this program. 

Students in this joint degree program spend their first 3½ years at ACPHS and their final 2½ years at AMC. Upon completion of the program, graduates will hold a bachelor's degree from ACPHS and a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from AMC.
