First Snow Ball Attracts a Crowd, Gives Back

With more than 350 attendees, ACPHS's first annual Charity Snow Ball was a great success.
Held at the Albany Crowne Plaza Hotel, the event invited ACPHS employees and students to a semi-formal with dancing, refreshments and charity. The Student Government Association and Student Programming Board presented the ball and collected more than 450 toys for the Toys for Tots program.

Scholarship Opportunities

  • The 2010 AACP Wal-Mart Scholars Program will provide $1,000 scholarships to 65 student-faculty pairs from AACP member institutions to attend the 2010 AACP Annual Meeting and Teachers Seminar in Seattle from July 10 through July 14, 2010. The scholarship will cover 100 percent of the student's registration costs and 50 percent of the faculty's registration costs at the early-bird rate. The scholarship will also cover registration for both the student and faculty mentor to attend the Teacher's Seminar. Beyond registration, recipients can choose to apply the remainder of the scholarship to airfare, lodging and other meeting expenses for the student. Application materials are available on the AACP website and are due at AACP by 5 p.m. EST on Monday, February 15, 2010.

·         The Foundation for Managed Care Pharmacy (FMCP), in conjunction with the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (AMCP), and under the auspices of Pfizer Inc, has made available twelve managed care internships for the summer of 2010. The goal of the program is to enhance a student's awareness of career options in managed care pharmacy practice settings or within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) by direct hands-on involvement. Ten managed care organizations and two VA medical centers will each host an intern for this program. The deadline is Monday, February 1, 2010. Visit the FMCP website for further information.
